Askthemaster put in an excellent weight carrying performance to land the 2m 2f Handicap Hurdle for his trainer Robert Tyner with Philip Enright in the saddle.
The 11yo son of Oscar was well supported this morning going from his opening show of 8/1 into 9/2 but drifted on track from 9/2 out to his starting price of 6/1.
The 7/4 favourite Harold Cross finished a lengths and three parts back in second with 20/1 shot Steel Park a further length back in third.
Askthemaster was recording his second win at Leopardstown having won a Handicap Chase over 2m 1f at the Festival last year.
Winning trainer Robert Tyner said afterwards: "He has been a bit disappointing over hurdles.
"He will be entered in the Boylesports Hurdle (formerly the MCR Hurdle) and he might run there before going back for the Grand Annual at Cheltenham in March (finished second in that race last year).”
