Given the closeness of the quartet on ratings it's not that difficult with hindsight to see why money came for the two outsiders in the Sharon Boland Last Days Of Freedom Rated Race at Wexford. Tooreen Legend (5s into 11/4) got the better of the favourite, Nabat Ali after a good battle from a furlong and a half out. Half a length separated them at the line. Jan Van Eyck (8s into 9/2) came home two and a quarter lengths back in third while Majestic Jasmine disappointed. She trailed in last of the four, nine and a half lengths behind, having made the running to two furlongs out.
Billy Lee rode the successful Rakti gelding for Tommy Stack. Lee divulged: "He travelled well the whole way and I just bided my time with him as it was his first time over the trip.
"I might have got there half a furlong too soon but he kept going well. He doesn't do a whole lot in front and he was rolling around a bit."
James O'Brien (from Thurles) owns Tooreen Legend and this was his first winner. (DM & EM)
