Timmy Tuesday adds to Gilligan’s recent gains Danny Gilligan followed up two Cheltenham festival winners last week with Down Royal success today, steering Gordon Elliott’s Timmy Tuesday (9/4f) to land the Albert Bartlett Triple Crown Series At Punchestown Qualifier Novice Handicap Hurdle. Racing with the leaders, Timmy Tuesday improved to lead before the final flight and while never in danger of defeat, displayed his usual left-hanging tendencies on the run-in, when beating Kinbara Firstdraft by six lengths. Gilligan, on the mark with Jazzy Matty and on Elliott’s Wodhooh at Cheltenham last week, today stated "Timmy Tuesday has a little bit of a mind of his own but put his best foot forward today and didn't do a whole pile wrong. He had plenty of weight on his back, but he put in a lovely round of jumping. "He probably just a bit lonesome from the back of the last and I let him drift over to the stands' side rail but he put it to bed easy enough." Trainer Elliott had earlier won today’s opener at Wexford, with the Jordan Gainford-partnered Speculatrix and later completed a cross-card treble, with the Gilligan-steered Down Royal winner Cher Tara.
