Timi gives Willie Mullins a 3000th career win Willie Mullins landed the 3000th success of his training career when Timi Roli easily triumphed in the World Cup Betting BoyleSports App Hurdle at Wexford. Appropriately enough Danny Mullins donned the colours of his uncle's world-record breaking Grade 1 scorer Hurricane Fly, aboard the George Creighton-owned Timi Roli (100/30). David Mullins was on Danny's mother's Last Encounter in this three miler, but after endeavouring to make all, Mag Mullins' charge couldn't match Timi Roli over the final two flights. In the end eight and a half lengths split them. Danny Mullins also rode Jim Bolger's 2000th winner (Teacht An Earraig at the Curragh in 2008), and after this win he said: "Willie is just fantastic at placing them. "I had ridden him last year on soft ground and he just didn't give me the same feel. "He was put away for the winter, and Willie picked this race for him from a long way back and he has won well. "It was a fair performance and hopefully he will step up from here." Rachael Blackmore, rider of Lion In His Heart trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her saddle slipped. (DM & EM)
