On The Tide (14/1) gained a belated first win at Wexford today, landing the concluding Racing Again 17th May Handicap Chase on his 20th attempt, for owner/trainer Seamus Neville and jockey Philip Donovan.

Runner-up in a 2022 bumper, the son of Beat Hollow had failed to place in seven previous chase runs but today got the better of 15 rivals, when scoring by a half-length from Malton Groove

Neville, based locally in Bridgetown, said “he's had lots of teething problems, and I thought he might prefer nicer ground.

“He is better over fences than hurdles and we'll stick with fences now. There are plenty of handicap chase options coming up for him."
