Thurles confident of racing

Irish racing looks set to recommence on Thursday with Thurles confident of going ahead as scheduled.

The news will come as a welcome relief to the industry after a blank week due to frost and snow.

"It's soft to heavy at the moment and we could have raced today," reported manager Pierse Molony.

"We'll keep an eye on things but we don't anticipate any problems as the temperatures are set to rise."
