Jack Foley had his claim reduced to 5lbs with a treble from three rides at Downpatrick today, completing the feat on Carnet De Stage in the concluding Randox Health Handicap Chase.
Carnet De Stage was getting off the mark at the 22nd lifetime attempt, as he led home a 1-2 for Cork based trainer Eugene O'Sullivan, beating stablemate Earths Furies by 15 lengths.
The win was Foley's 21st of the new season with today's feat, in the concluding three races, matching another treble at Kilbeggan in July.
Following the race, the rider reported “I opted to keep out wide and get the fresher ground for him. The way he has won I don't think it would have made much odds.
"He has travelled really well and he has jumped really well. He is a big horse and has hit the crossbar a couple of times. He jumped well and Eugene's horses would be known to jump well. He was confident beforehand.”
Foley had earlier partnered a winner for Champion Trainer Willie Mullins with Gelee Blanche and added “it is nice to bag a treble and that is my 7lbs claim ridden out. It was cool to ride it out on a treble from three rides here."
