There's no doubt about Crawley's mare in div 1

Nodoubtaboutthat landed a tidy gamble when taking division one of the Bloomfields House Hotel Handicap Hurdle in decisive fashion at Kilbeggan.

The Shane Crawley-trained mare didn’t show much in four previous outings over hurdles including on her handicap debut at Tramore in July but was well-backed earlier today from quotes as big as 16/1.

She was sent off the 7/2 second favourite in this two-mile event and stretched clear under Eoin O’Connell after the penultimate flight.

The daughter of Oscar was in command before the last and kept on well for an easy five lengths victory over Orchard Grove

Rossmore’s Pride was a further six and a half lengths adrift in third.

Crawley said, “She was ready to run and then the lockdown came. She did quite well out on grass in April and May, and probably needed the run the last day.

“I’m delighted with that and the lads (Who What Why Syndicate) will be happy watching on television.

“She’s a light mare so we can’t over-race her. We’ll have to freshen her up and hopefully the ground won’t go too soft and we can get her out again. She’s small so we can’t go to the well too often.”
