Theatre Native shows off her ability Theatre Native was clearly much better than form figures of 'F4P' indicated and she put it all together in the auction maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse. Those figures masked plenty though as she fell in her point-to-point at the final fence when well clear, and she was found to be blowing hard post race when pulled up at Clonmel. In today's assignment over two miles, she closed up on the leader Bruno From Mars after three out and picked that one off at the next. Rachael Blackmore had plenty of horse under her as she asked the 4/5 favourite to assert before the last and they soon had their rivals in trouble. The Getaway mare kept up the gallop to come in by a decisive seven lengths. Mi Lucky Cailin (9/1) won the race for second by a neck from Cottesloe Sunshine (14/1). Henry de Bromhead said: “I'm delighted with that. She ran very keen there all the way and, when she learns to settle, obviously that will help her again. “It was lovely to see her behave like she did and still finish out the race as well as she did.” On her disappointing last run he added: “We could never really put our finger on it to be honest. There were a few little thing we thought so we just went back to square one and started afresh with her. “She did a lovely piece of work about ten days ago, so that gave us some encouragement. “I think the key is to try and get her to settle more. We went with a red hood today but we might change to a normal hood the next day. “She's got an engine and I'm delighted she's done that. “There's the Honeysuckle mares' novices' hurdle here and she's in the Mares Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham and she's also eligible for the final of this race. There are loads of options. “It's nice to get her back on track.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
