The Blarney Rose is awarded win The Blarney Rose was awarded the Kelloggs Cul Camps Handicap Hurdle in the Stewards Room after the 7/2 favourite Easy Vic passed the post in first place. The Tony Martin trained favourite (got in as second reserve) veered to the rail from the last, impeding The Blarney Rose, who subsequently collided with the rail. Easy Vic went on to score by a length and a half with The Blarney Rose finishing second, but after a lengthy Stewards Enquiry the positions were reserved. The winner who is trained by Eugene O’Sullivan was sent off at 12/1 and was ridden by amateur Brendan Crowley who is a son of winning owner Stuart. The eight-year-old daughter of Oscar (second winner of the day for that sire after Fiery Oscar won the second) was recording her first win on the racecourse today but she has five point-to-point wins to her name. After the race the Stewards suspended Andrew Lynch, rider of first past the post Easy Vic, for six day for careless riding. (Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes)
