Ten pound claimers have taken Dundalk by storm this evening with Darren Egan completing a clean-sweep for the beginners of the opening three races, when steering Great Relief to easily win the Dundalk Stadium On Facebook Handicap.
Nineteen year old Egan, who was partnering his third winner and now has his claim reduced to 7lbs, moved the son of Desert Style to the front two furlong out before staying on strongly for a seven lengths, and more, rout of his 14 rivals.
Afterwards winning trainer Paul Flynn stated “it looked a bad race but he won it well – I’m hoping to bring him back at the end of the month for another 0-60 handicap but they mightn’t let him into it after that!”
“I’ve had no winter horses and this is my first winner for a while but things should get busy again shortly.”
