It proved straightforward for 1/3 shot Sainte Tartare as Willie Mullins’s only runner at Limerick this afternoon ran out a wide margin winner of the mares maiden hurdle.

Nothing wanted to lead early in the two-miler and Danny Mullins soon went to the front on the hotpot.

She was clear leaving the back straight but Taketwotoone closed a bit going to the second last.

Mullins asked his mount to stretch clear before the last and kept the Saint des Saints mare going in the closing stages to post a comprehensive 21 length success.

It was a third career outing for the winner, who had been third here at Christmas.

The winning rider said:- "She was keen the last day so leading wasn't what I really wanted today but, if needs be, she was a good solid mare and I wasn't afraid of making it.

"It was a good performance and being a Saint Des Saints mare, will be doing her best work over a bit further distance.

"I was able to fill up down the hill and put the race to bed once I asked the question. It was a nice performance and she ran out an easy winner in the end."
