Ta Se Rua a welcome track winner for Healy at 33/1 Ta Se Rua, the complete outsider of the field at 33/1, was a game winner of the Gaultier Hunters Steeplechase in Tramore. The 12-year-old gelding was giving plenty of years to his rivals, but raced prominently throughout for Andy Burke-Ott. The pair were back in front jumping the last and were able to fend off their rivals as they kept on to score by three-quarters of a length. Long Road was another big-priced horse in second at 28/1 while Revolut Ned was the same distance back in third at 7/1. This was Ta Se Rua's first win on the track to go with a point-to-point at Ballycahane in March 2022. Pat Healy said: "Gordon's horse (Elliott, Last Round) was only a few lengths ahead of him at Thurles the last day, so I thought he wouldn't be far away from him again today. He didn't really get the three miles and a furlong there, so I was hoping the trip today would suit. "I've had him since he was a foal and he is a family pet. All the lads in the yard ride him and it's unlucky for Evan Daly. He would have been riding him but he was short one ride in a point-to-point to ride in this race. Andy gave him a super ride and is great value for his 7lb. "His dam is a half-sister to horse called Lough Derg that Martin Pipe used to have. He would stay forever, but this fella doesn't quite get the three mile trip. He might get it when he is 14! "I've had plenty of winners before but haven't had one on the track in over 20 years. I had four seconds here one New Year's Eve, I ran four horses and they all finished second." This was Healy's first track success since September 2002. The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr P.A. King, rider of Revolut Ned, trained by William P Murphy, concerning where he appeared to momentarily stop riding on the run to the line. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his horse had recently had wind surgery and that he felt he had no more to give . Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. P.A. King was in breach of Rule 212(iv)(a) and in considering his clean record in this regard they suspended him for five racedays. Additional reporting by Donal Murphy
