Review TIPPERARY 17th Oct Nafaath (6-4) successfully conceded weight all round in the Tipperary Supporters Club 2009 Race under Declan McDonogh.Urban Reach led the five-runner field at a moderate gallop, with Kevin Prendergast's colt on his shoulder in second.McDonogh made his move at the two-furlong pole and he was not for catching, holding a neck advantage over the fast-finishing newcomer Rockhampton at the line.A Girl landed the odds in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden, but needed plenty of coaxing from Mick Kinane.Following a promising debut second at Navan, John Oxx's filly was sent off the 2-5 marker leader and was soon at the head of affairs as the field settled down.Things looked bleak for favourite-backers when Lady Excel headed A Girl for a stride or two after the turn for home, but she responded well and found enough to go on and score by a length and three quarters.Loco Grande opened his account at the fourth time of asking when pulling out all the stops to win the Tipperary Racecourse Finale Handicap. The 6-1 chance moved sweetly upsides Shamiran at the two furlong pole, but was made to fight tooth and nail to win by half a length under Wayne Lordan. The winner of division one of the Limerick Junction Handicap could be named a fair way out as Seamus Heffernan booted Braddock for home off the home bend.Titus Academy gave chase but his effort was in vain as the well-backed 11-4 favourite stayed on well to score by three and a half lengths. The second division proved easy pickings for Bolt Up (10-1), who did exactly that in the hands of Daniel Grant. After taking the lead just over a furlong out, the Iron Man gelding quickened clear and registered an impressive eight-length success.© www.irish-racing.com
