Sweet win for the O'Briens with Ahimsa "They went very slow and I just got there. It turned into a bit of a sprint but I always thought I was getting there," remarked Joseph O'Brien having completed an over five and a half to one double aboard Ahimsa in the Crossmaglen All-Ireland Champions Maiden at Dundalk. In contrast to half-an-hour earlier on the impressive Ernest Hemingway, O'Brien had to work altogether harder on the odds-on favourite Ahimsa. Again Fergal Lynch impressed when almost keeping them all at bay on the well-backed Catfromtherock (9/2 this morning into 5/2) from the front. However in fairness to the victorious six-times previously raced Holy Roman Emperor filly, she found plenty for heavy pressure and got there near the line to score by a neck. The other one for money, newcomer That Boy David (10s into 6s) showed up well in third, a further three parts of a length adrift. Joseph's Dad, Aidan trains Ernest Hemingway for the Coolmore/Ballydoyle team but he handles Ahimsa for his wife Annemarie and they'll have derived even more satisfaction from the latter's win as they bred the three-year-old under their Whisperview Trading Ltd banner.
