Cottesloe Sunshine produced a fine front-running performance to claim the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle for Joseph O'Brien.

Oakley Brown was soon disputing on the Getaway filly and she led away from the third flight in the two-miler. Balko D'ange threw down a challenge bypassing the penultimate flight but Cottesloe Sunshine asserted down to the last and a fine leap there propelled her to a three-and-a-half length success.

The 10/3 winner had unseated at Clonmel last month when just joined for the lead, after making the running.

"I thought she had a great chance and dropping back to two miles, I thought I'd make plenty use of her,” said Brown.

“Her jumping is probably her biggest asset and it wasn't the strongest of races. She is a tough little filly and has done it well.

"She was unlucky the last day at Clonmel when Richie (Deegan, jockey) was given no chance with her mistake and I think she is on the up and took another step forward today.

"She is a grand little filly and I wouldn't be afraid to again make use of her if they found a nice handicap over two miles."
