Strongpoint justified his short price in the 2m7f beginners chase at Tipperary to complete a quick double for Charlie Swan.
Davy Russell sent the 5/4 favourite to the front two from home and he soon asserted for a four-and-a-half victory over Chaussettes
The winner was gaining compensation for a fall at Kilbeggan last time when he looked certain to score.
"That's grand. He's a big chasing type. Davy thought he could come back in trip. He's only bred to get a mile-and-a-half and we might try two-and-a-half with him," said Swan.
"He has always swished his tail. It makes him go faster! We'll find something small for him."
