Joseph O'Brien made no mistake in the two-year-old conditions race at Dundalk as hotpot Alexander Pope ran out an impressive winner.
O'Brien sent his mount to the front after a couple of furlongs and the result never looked in doubt down the straight.
He asked the 2/7 favourite (from 2/5) to quicken clear over a furlong from home and he powered away in the closing stages for a seven-length victory over Final Recovery
The win moved O'Brien to within three winners of Gary Carroll and Ben Curtis in the race for the apprentice title.
"There was no point sitting in and going slow. He's uncomplicated," said O'Brien junior afterwards.
"He'll be a nice horse next year over 1m2f. Hopefully he might stay a bit further as his dam is by Galileo."
