Step up in trip suits War Room nicely War Room was another horse to floor punters at Dundalk this evening as he served up a 20/1 shock in the extended mile and two handicap. It was a good result for his owner Eugene Kavanagh as his colours were also carried to second by House Limit (6/1). The consistent Bomber Jackson completed the places at 6/1. Fully six horses were in with a chance at the business end of this race, however, War Room shot ahead in the final half a furlong and took the honours by a length and a quarter with Michael Hussey in the saddle. He was seventh as the field flashed past the two pole but unleashed his sustained challenge in the final furlong. Trainer Shane Duffy said: "He was very unlucky the last day when he got a run on Conor down the back. We always knew he'd get a trip but he needed to settle. I have to thank Conor Hoban for telling us to step up in trip. "He probably doesn't quicken but he lengthens and he needs a clear run. He gets there well in the end but if you break his stride it's hard to get him started again." Additional reporting by Gary Carson
