Stay With It gets his revenge on Royal Boru Stay With It got his revenge on Royal Boru as he ran out an easy winner of the Athlone Handicap Hurdle scoring under David Mullins for Mick Winters. The eight-year-old son of Overbury was last seen finishing second to Royal Boru at Ballinrobe on Monday last. Available at 4/1 last night he was well-supported and opened on-course at 3's before going off the 11/4 second favourite. Settled behind the leaders he was third with a circuit to race and improved to lead after three out. He was joined by Tempo Mac at the second last and the result was still very much in the balance when that one crashed out. This left Stay With It in a clear lead and he went on to win by twenty-five lengths. Royal Boru (5/2fav) finished second under Keith Donoghue for Gillian Callaghan while First Trim (33/1) was a further ten lengths back in third under Shane Butler for Seamus Fahey. Owner Tom McNutly said afterwards: "When he won last summer I was in America. This is my first time leading in a winner." Additional reporting by Gary Carson
