South South West takes Clonmel opener Favourite Everything Zain made it five second placings in succession when a beaten odds-on favourite in the Kilmore 3-y-o Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel. This time South South West was the one to inflict defeat on the 'jolly.' Promising when unseating two out on his hurdling bow at Listowel, this time Andrew McNamara rode South South West for Pat Flynn and he scored by two and a half lengths. Flynn said: "The owners (WJ Souths Racing Club) own the South Bar which is a popular pub in Limerick. They also had his brother Way Down South leased and when they saw this fellow in the sales they bought him. He is a complicated horse and is a bit silly but he will learn an awful lot from this. He will probably go for a winners of one now." Unfortunately Bigearsonmyright broke his leg coming away for the third last and was put down. (DM & EM)
