The Phoenix Sprint Stakes produced a thrilling finish with Snaefell holding the late charge of Georgebernardshaw in a bunch finish.
Rory Cleary had to manoeuvre to find a gap inside the final furlong and his mount burst through to hit the front. He was all out close home, however, to hold the Ballydoyle runner by a head.
"The ground was a big factor. He deserved that and I'm delighted for Lady Clague, who has been great to us," said winning trainer Michael Halford.
"It's also nice for Rory to get the ride. Johnny (Murtagh) has done particularly well on the horse but it's nice for Rory to get the chance.
"He'll go for the Flying Five (Curragh August 31st). I was a bit concerned about the turn here today as he's always on a straight. He's a genuine Group 3 horse is these conditions."
