The opening race this afternoon at Fairyhouse, The Irish Stallions Farms EBF Maiden was won by the Dermot Weld trained Cnocan Gold ridden by Pat Smullen and owned by Newtown Anner Stud Farm Ltd.
Smullen raced his mount in behind the leader, improved to lead from 1f out and kept on well to hold off the Aidan O'Brien trained Four Star General by 1 ? lengths.
