Co Cork based trainer Garrett Ahern was on the mark in the opening division of the Junction Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary today with Slainte And Thanks which bridged a gap of two years between wins.
Ridden by Brian Hayes, the point to point winning daughter of Arakan raced prominently throughout, led from the second last and in the end proved three and a quarter lengths too strong for Whitango
Afterwards Ahern mentioned "she had been working fierce well the last couple of weeks and I ran two in Limerick the other night and she would be 25 lengths better than them.
“She is what she is and will go to Killarney for a mares' beginners chase now.
“I've nine riding out and ready to run for the summer.”
Slainte And Thanks was previously successful at Clonmel on June 8, 2018.
