Situation being monitored at Punchestown, Fairyhouse unraceable in places

Ahead of Tuesday's rescheduled meeting at Punchestown, the ground is now heavy after more than two inches (59 mm) of rain since Saturday.

The forecast is for a mainly dry day today, with the possibility of wintry showers this evening.

Tuesday is due to be cold, with further showers of rain,sleet and snow being predicted. The situation is being monitored.

Fresh declarations for the card will take place this morning.

Regarding racing later in the week, Fairyhouse, where racing is due to take place on Wednesday, is currently unraceable in places after 39mm of rain over the weekend. A further update from the track will be issued later.

The ground at Clonmel for racing on Thursday is now heavy as well after 24mm of rain since Thursday. There is the possibility of a further 10-15mm of rain before racing.
