Sir Des Champs looks good on chase debut Willie Mullins (also had a winner with Mikael D'Haguenet), Gigginstown House Stud and Davy Russell added to their earlier gains with Toostrong when Sir Des Champs looked a natural on his chasing bow in the Johnny Lumley "Arkle Groom" Lifetime Achievement Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse. The long odds-on favourite only had Gran Torino and a couple of fences to worry about in the straight and he eased on from before the last to score by eight and a half lengths. Mullins said: "He jumped very economically and efficiently. "We'll get him out for something at Christmas. He's well entered up – he is in everything. "He could go over longer, though I don't like running them over three miles too soon. "He could learn a lot going back over two miles at Leopardstown (Racing Post Novice on St Stephen's Day). "He's a nice prospect to look forward to." (AM & EM)
