Willie Mullins (also had a winner with Mikael D'Haguenet , Gigginstown House Stud and Davy Russell added to their earlier gains with Toostrong when Sir Des Champs looked a natural on his chasing bow in the Johnny Lumley "Arkle Groom" Lifetime Achievement Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse.
The long odds-on favourite only had Gran Torino and a couple of fences to worry about in the straight and he eased on from before the last to score by eight and a half lengths.
Mullins said: "He jumped very economically and efficiently.
"We'll get him out for something at Christmas. He's well entered up – he is in everything.
"He could go over longer, though I don't like running them over three miles too soon.
"He could learn a lot going back over two miles at Leopardstown (Racing Post Novice on St Stephen's Day).
"He's a nice prospect to look forward to." (AM & EM)
