Kieran O'Neill rode his fourth winner in the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice series to put himself bang in contention as he guided bottom-weight Silver Shuffle to a four and a half length success in the mile two furlong handicap at the Curragh.
The three-year-old was dead last of the twenty runners as they approached the straight but he soon made good progress on the outer. The chestnut son of Big Shuffle led over a furlong out and he went on to see off Leah Claire in good style.
Following on from Luisant earlier in the day, this was a second Curragh trained winner, as Jimmy Coogan handles Silver Shuffle for Beverley Westermann.
Silver Shuffle was returned a 28/1 chance as he had disappointed on his first effort in Ireland 62 days ago after arriving from Germany. He paid 74.20 on the Tote.
