Show And Go scored his second career and course win at Downpatrick today as the Henry De Bromhead trained gelding landed the Strictly For Beginners Chase under Grand National winning jockey David Mullins.
The son of Stowaway’s only previous win came over this course and distance (2m2f) in a July 2015 handicap hurdle and following today’s win, the Champion Chase winning trainer stated “David gave him a really well-timed ride. I thought we might have been beaten coming to the last but seemed to have a little bit in reserve.
“He's been a little bit unfortunate with various things and I'm delighted for his owner John Phelan who is based in London. He has two horses with us and they have both won this summer - Lady Of Portlairge he owns in partnership and this horse I recommended to him in the yard when his previous owners were selling him. I thought there could be another race in him so John bought him."
