Nenagh trainer Eoin Seymour saddled his first winner when Ixigreczed produced a gutsy front-running performance to land the first division of the 80-95 handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan.
Philip Donovan was soon in front on the 14/1 shot and she responded gamely when pressed by Minority Interest going to the last in the two-mile-two contest.
The Bathyrhon mare galloped on strongly on the run-in to record a length-and-a-quarter success.
“That's my first winner, my dad (Tony) used to train years ago and had a good few winners. It's a hobby for us and my son Billy is doing most of the work with them,” said Seymour.
“I've had the licence for two years and we've six in at the moment.
“We're delighted with her, we knew she had lots of ability. She had shown it at home, all the time, but fillies can be very tricky and you never know when you have them right.
“Philly gave her a great ride. She likes to be in front and she got an opportunity today when she was let go there and nothing came up to push her too hard.
“We'll look for the same again and see how she goes. She was much more relaxed today, she normally gets very wired before races.”
