Seddon provided John McConnell with his first Cheltenham Festival winner last March when landing the Magners Plate Handicap Chase and all roads lead back to Prestbury Park with a number of options available.
The Stowaway gelding gave the Galaxy Racing Syndicate great sport last season winning four times (2 hurdles/2 chases) including another valuable handicap hurdle victory at the Punchestown Festival.
The 11-year-old was last seen finishing third in the American Grand National at Far Hills and McConnell is open-minded on plans for this year’s Festival meeting saying, “He’ll get a few entries at Cheltenham, maybe the Coral Cup and the Plate which he won last year. It will depend on what mark he gets.
“He has an entry in the Ryanair and that is a possibility. I’m not staying he’ll win but it will be a smaller field (than the handicaps) and is a race that he could run well in,” he added.
“He may go beforehand to the Dublin Racing Festival.”
The master of Rockview Stables recorded a double at Musselburgh last Friday with Jackpot De Chisel, successful in a juvenile hurdle at Ayr last season, getting his chasing career off to a winning start while Lieutenant Mayne scored on his debut under Rules in the bumper.
“Jackpot De Chisel is a good jumper and an exciting horse while the bumper winner is a nice prospect and is our first horse for the Stone and McNeill families.”
