Hands and heels were just required on Screaming Rose as she brought up plenty of bets in the bumper at Cork.
The Willie Mullins-trained four-year-old filly won her first bumper at Galway in September and was backed to follow up, from 10/11 to 4/6 in the morning before being returned the 8/11 favourite. Khalessi raced with a clear lead but came back to the field on the turn for home. At this stage Screaming Rose was tanking along in second with Patrick Mullins motionless.
Screaming Rose soon came to pick it up and Mullins gave her the go to win her race outside the furlong pole. She duly kept on well to beat Pride Of The Braid (9/4) into second by four lengths. Barnahash Rose took third at 12/1.
Patrick Mullins said: "I delayed my trip to Australia (for Tuesday's Melbourne Cup) to ride her and I thought she'd be hard to beat.
"Her brother Valerian Bridge improved hugely from his first to second run and I was hoping she'd do the same and she did. We'll look for black-type now and will either run at Navan next or England, where her owner is from."
Regarding Max Dynamite's preparation for the Melbourne Cup, he added: "Everything has gone like clockwork so far. I'm flying tonight and will get in to Melbourne on Tuesday morning and then leave again on Wednesday night."
Screaming Rose gave Willie Mullins an across the card double as Devils Bride took the Grade Three chase in Naas today.
