The Dermot Weld trained Sapphire made all to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Race at Naas this evening, scoring a double for jockey Pat Smullen.
The daughter of Medicean stayed on well in the straight to hold the challenge of 1/1f Haziyna
Afterwards Weld’s son Mark Weld stated “we’re delighted Sapphire won as her owner, Eva Marie Bucher-Haefner (of Moyglare Stud), was there to lead her back into the winner’s enclosure. We will aim to get some blacktype with her now.”
