The Prunella Dobbs trained Our Girl Salley made it five winners in-a-row, and maintained her unbeaten run over hurdles, at Fairyhouse today when justifying 2/5 favouritism in the Listed Tote Pick Six Mares Novice Hurdle.
Ridden by Barry Geraghty, the daughter of Carroll House did have to work to eventually see off the challenge of Belle Brook
Afterwards Dobbs stated “Our Girl Salley didn’t pick up quite as well as she did the last day but I don’t think Barry was too hard on her. Whether today’s ground was her ground I’m not sure.”
“We’ll move forward now and will aim her at another mares hurdle here in mid-February while she will be entered in the novice hurdles and the Mares Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.”
After the race, bookmakers Paddy Power, Sean Graham and Stan James made Our Girl Salley a 10/1 chance to win the Mares Hurdle at Cheltenham.
