Davy Russell will ride Ferdy Murphy's Kalahari King in today's Boylesports.com Champion Chase at Punchestown.
The horse was the intended mount of Graham Lee, but that rider suffered a heavy fall from Nevsky Bridge at Hexham yesterday and has been stood down on medical advice.
Ferdy Murphy said: "Graham is having one of those runs and one of those years - he'll be glad when this season is over.
"He's gutted to be missing the ride and a bit deflated - he's pretty sore, but I spoke to him before he left Hexham and he seemed OK.
"Davy has ridden the horse before and won on him at Punchestown a couple of years ago, he's a good man to step in."
Kalahari King is 4/1 third favourite for today's feature contest behind Arkle Chase winner Sizing Europe and Twist Magic both generally priced at 3/1.
