Russell raced the Acclamation gelding in behind the leaders, took closer order 3 out, switched to inner and led before last and kept on well to hold off the efforts of No One Tells Me under Robert Power by 1 ¼ lengths.
Winning trainer Seamus Fahey was not present for the win.
