Runyon Rattler wins for Ring & Rothwell Trainer Philip Rothwell and stable conditional jockey Andrew Ring combined to win the opening www.wexfordraces.ie Maiden Hurdle at Wexford today with Runyon Rattler. The son of Runyon was a 31 length bumper winner at Kilbeggan in May 2015 and while unsuccessful in seven subsequent starts, won easily again today when beating Henry Howard by nine lengths. Rothwell was at the RDS for the horse show but Ring later stated “he was disappointing and he has had plenty of problems. It was a bad race today but he won well. He didn't jump well today and in a better maiden he wouldn't get away with that.” By Tom Weekes, quotes from Donal Murphy
