New Rules showed a touch of class in the bumper at Listowel when overcoming traffic problems to run out an easy winner.
Robbie McNamara found himself caught on the rail before the straight but once he got a clear run his mount cruised into the lead.
He didn't have to come off the bridle to record a three-length success over Catcher In Thewell
It was the first winner Dermot Weld has trained for top jumps owner JP McManus.
"The track is a credit to Listowel. I walked it and was amazed how good it was after such a prolonged dry period," said Weld.
"Robbie ran into a few little traffics problems. He's a big weak horse and is very immature.
"He could have a nice future both on the Flat and over jumps and the plan now is a maiden hurdle."
