Another Story lengthens away under Ronan Whelan, to defeat Strada Di Carsoli© Photo Healy Racing
A first-time hood was certainly no harm to Suvenna victorious in the 7.05, and it was a case of more of the same half-an-hour later as Another Story followed-up her maiden debut victory, achieved here at the course in November, when taking the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap under Ronan Whelan.
The Spyglass Syndicate-owned daughter of Rip Van Winkle came through from her mid-field slot on the inner, when switched off the rail from before the straight.
The three-year-old was strong when asked for her effort over the closing couple of furlongs, and she went away from favourite, Strada Di Carsoli inside the last, for a two and a half length win.
Kieren Fallon didn't make it from Ayr in time to partner Approcaillis and that one filled the third berth under Billy Lee.
"She's left me a bit speechless. I think she's really smart," said winning trainer Sheila Lavery.
"I didn't want her getting hot so she came here needing a piece of work.
"Ronan said she gave a big heave two furlongs out and he thought she would get tired but she just went. I'm just thrilled.
"She's a lovely filly and home-bred. I need to talk to the owner. I don't know if it's shooting at stars but we might look at the Jersey.
"She can only improve again. She came here not fully wound up as I thought a lot of her and wanted her to learn.
"First time everything happened fast and she's so competitive I don't think she learned a lot. I think she'll learn from tonight. Ronan was delighted with the way she travelled."
