Jockey Andrew Lynch brought up a double on Roscommon’s card courtesy of Jim Dreaper’s Ellie Mia in the two and a half mile maiden hurdle.
“She’s been very consistent at her own level apart from one day at Fairyhouse when she got bogged down on very tacky ground. She’s been staying on at the end of each of her races so we decided to try her over two and a half miles,” Jim Dreaper said.
“She seemed to do it well today. We might give her a run on the flat over a mile and six. She’d be quicker than most of the horses we have. Most are bred to stay.
“She would jump a fence, but Mrs Conway [the owner] might not want to do that. She’s had her ups and downs, she fractured a shin bone but that’s all forgotten today.”
The 5/1 shot travelled well as she moved into contention alongside Easter Hunt at the third last. Once Andrew Lynch said go she went on and took the race by four and three quarter lengths.
Easter Hunt was the plunge horse in the betting ring as all prices from 5/1 down to 3/1f were snapped up. He was six lengths in front of third-placed Little Rocky
