Robinstown repeated his victory of 12 months ago in the claiming hurdle at Limerick with a carbon copy win in the two-mile-five contest.
Cian Collins’ charge had made all in the race last year and it was the same again for the Stowaway gelding.
Tiernan Power Roche soon bagged a healthy lead on the 9/2 shot.
He had a reduced advantage turning for home but stayed on strongly in the closing stages to post a 13-length win over 125/1 shot She’ll Be Kept.
It was the 25th career win for in-form claimer Power Roche, who will now have his allowance reduced to 5lb.
"He likes it when he gets away on this tight (inside) track and even though he didn't jump a hurdle, he still got away. We kept things the same as last year: jump and stretch them and gallop,” said Collins.
"He worked well last week so we actually fancied him today as he was coming back into form. We were planning for today as this is now his level, as he is pushing on (in age).
"If I still have him, I'll go for veterans chases with him as he is qualified now.”
Carl Millar missed out on the ride as his mother is ill and Collins added:-
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Carl's family." Hascoeur Clermont (sixth) was claimed for E8,000 by D O'Sullivan to be trained by Charles Coakley. She'll Be Kept was claimed for E5,000 to be trained by Cian Collins.
