Robin's cheek-pieces help in maiden win Owner David Keoghan, and trainer Tommy Stack, previous connections of the opening winner, Your Pal Tal, struck themselves in race two when Robin's Choice (7/1) landed the Fundraising Made Easy At Dundalk Maiden. Equipped with first-time cheek-pieces, the Bushranger filly, on start number five, with Billy Lee up, got the better of Captain Carleton by a length and a quarter. "They didn't go quick and she has plenty of boot to quicken up. She kept going well to the line," said Lee. "It's nice to get a maiden win into her and hopefully she can pick up a handicap off a nice mark." Lee was only home for a couple of days. The Group-1 winning pilot rode a winner in Qatar earlier in the week and is heading back there in the next couple of days. Well-backed favourite Seeking Truth had to settle for third, three and three parts of a length back. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Emiest Rose, trained by C.F. Swan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be very lame post race. C.P. Hoban, rider of Emiest Rose trained by C.F. Swan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount went lame in the closing stages. J.A. Heffernan, rider of Mysticaltou trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung throughout the race. (GC & EM)
