Robin prevails under Enright for Halley Tintown Robin recorded his first career success, as he battled gamely to win the Your Clubs Fundraiser At Fairyhouse, Enquire Today Handicap Hurdle. An encouraging fourth to Orchard Road at Clonmel recently, the Vincent Halley trained gelding came in for plenty of market support. Available at 11/1 last night, that price was snapped up this morning, and he went off the 11/2 second favourite with Phillip Enright in the saddle. Settled in mid-division he took closer order from four out, and improved into fifth as they entered the straight. He was pushed along to challenge after the second last, and jumped the final flight in a share of the lead. He soon got to the front, and stayed on best in the closing stages, going on to score by a length and three parts. Mossy Island, who was returning from a lengthy absence, ran a fine race to finish second under Luke Dempsey for Sabrina Harty at 12/1. Canny Tom was sent off the well-backed 13/8 favourite (3's last night and from 2's on-course), and he was a nose back in third under Keith Donoghue for Gordon Elliott. Vincent Halley, who trains the winner of owner/breeder Julia Foran, said afterwards: "He ran well in Clonmel the last day. Phillip said the ground is the key to him. "With the forecast he'll probably be left off after this week. Off his mark I'd like to think there is another hurdle in him. He's really a summer horse." Additional reporting by Gary Carson
