Riffa aiming for another Group 1 win in Ganay Al Riffa bids for another Group 1 victory in the Prix Ganay at Longchamp this afternoon. The Joseph O’Brien-trained entire claimed the National Stakes as a two-year-old but injury limited his classic season to two outings. He bounced back to win at the top level in Germany last August and comes into today’s race having finished third to third to Shin Emperor in Group 2 company in Saudia Arabia in February. "We’re really looking forward to it,” said O’Brien. "It is a small field, but it is a really smart race with a couple of top horses in there and we are one of them. "He had a good run in Saudi. We were going to go to Meydan and just had a little thing in a foot and missed that. In hindsight, it is probably no harm. It was a wildly hot race. "This was the race that we wanted to target from there." (Michael Graham)
