Blue Ridge Lane who had racked up a series of placed efforts, finally got off the mark in the Rathronan Maiden at Clonmel.
Pat Smullen produced his mount wide to lead in the final furlong and Dermot Weld's charge kept on well to score by three-lengths from Buffers Alley
"He owed us one. I tried not to get into a battle - that's why I held him up and came wide," said Smullen.
