Rhine in command for Shanahan Across The Rhine overcame his phobia of the stalls to run out a cosy winner of the Abbey Healthcare Handicap for Tracey Collins. Pat Shanahan always had his mount handy and he hit the front with just under two furlongs to run. The gelding kicked clear before the furlong pole and stayed on strongly for a length-and-three-quarters victory over Lord Kenmare. "I'm delighted with him. I thought he'd run a very big race as he's been working well," said Collins. "Will Hayes has done a masterful job with him. Without him he wouldn't be racing as he's very hard to get into the stalls. Pat gave him a top class ride as well."
