Remember Alexander shed her maiden tag in the seven furlong Group 3 Tyros Stakes for two-year-olds when Johnny Murtagh took her wide in the straight to beat rail-hugging Parish Hall by four lengths as the pair raced track apart at the business end of the race.
The win gave Jessica Harrington a quick-fire double on the card. Remember Alexander’s SP was 7/1 after being taken at 8s.
Her noteworthy piece of form was finishing second to subsequent Royal Ascot winner Power, in a six furlong Curragh maiden on debut. She is a half sister to Memory.
Parish Hall was runner-up at 3/1 while the disappointing 1/2 favourite Tenth Star could only come home third of the six runners beaten six lengths by the winner having been backed from an opening show of 8/13. He emptied over a furlong out.
Jessica Harrington said: “She did it well. Everything went right for her and I’m absolutely delighted.
“Johnny [Murtagh] said she relaxed and travelled away.
“She just kept going and she loved that ground which is great as it looks like we are going to have a wet summer.
“She is in the Moyglare [Curragh August 28] and it looks like we will go in that direction all being well.”
