Regal D'Estruval (20s in the morning and 12s into 6s on track) landed a gamble in the opening Athleague Maiden Hurdle under Tom Doyle in the Ascot Gold Cup winning colours of Doctor Ronan Lambe.
Jim Culloty 's charge made all and was soon clear, jumping brilliantly on the way to an unchallenged seven length success over Mannin Beach
Culloty led the five-year-old up and Doyle commented: "We thought he had a small chance. He had run better each time and we knew the track here would suit him."
