Rebel Og impresses on debut despite market drift Rebel Og put in an impressive performance on her debut, coming home seventeen lengths to the good under Patrick Mullins for his father Willie (completing a double on the card). Out of dual Grade 3 winner Oscar Rebel, the daughter of Presenting proved very easy to back with punters. As short as 7/4 in early shows, she opened on-course at 5/2, before going off a 10/3 chance in the colours of the Lions Mouth Racing Club (first horse in training). Settled in mid-division she took closer order with six furlongs to race, and hit the front from the three furlong pole, soon powering clear to record a facile success. The 6/5 favourite Neptune finished second under Finian Maguire for Dermot Weld, while Geordiebest was another two and a quarter lengths back in third at 16/1. Patrick Mullins said: "She was very good. She was a little green early on but once the penny dropped for her I was just doing a half speed everywhere. I got there a mile too soon but I was just travelling that well. "Her dam, Oscar Rebel, was a very good mare and she might be as good, maybe better! "It's a hard track to come first-time out. Early on it was quite rough and she wasn't carrying me but once she got clear air she was on a different track." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
