Raynama gains maiden success for Weld, Aga & McDonogh The Dermot Weld Raynama gained her first success at the seventh attempt in the www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden at Dundalk tonight as the Aga Khan owned filly scored in first-time blinkers. The 10/11 favourite carried maiden form figures of '7422-32' into today's race and today comprehensively beat all her rivals when scoring a three and a quarter lengths win over Rue D'Antibes. Afterwards winning jockey Declan McDonogh stated “she deserved that. She met Gerry Keane's horse (Laughifuwant) in Galway and he was a very impressive winner on the day. It was very heavy ground there and today she seemed to like this surface and skipped off it well. “Her run behind I Can Fly, when she was four lengths behind, was always going to be good enough. “She just side-stepped the gate; she had first time blinkers and just didn't ping them. I had to just get her up into it and then I was using Fish (Mark Enright on Dark Honey) as a help around. “She deserved to win and she's a nice filly. I don't know what the plan is with her but it's good to get a bracket with her. Quotes from Gary Carson
