Ravenhill brings up Elliott and Russell's brace Ravenhill was strongest at the finish of the Galway Races Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase in Limerick as he gave Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell a double on the card. The 9/2 chance picked off front-running Aranhill Chief at the final fence in this extended two mile six furlong test and was kept up to his work to win by a length and three quarters from 3/1 favourite Mindsmadeup. The favourite got up for second by a nose from Aranhill Chief (50/1). Miss Sassie rounded out the places in fourth at 14/1. Russell said: "It was a worry before the race that he only had limited experience over fences. However, we went slow and I had a lovely position, so the inexperience wasn't as much of an inconvenience." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
